Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join the UK legal team of a major international organisation operating at the forefront of the transport sector. Part of a large global group with an impressive international footprint, the business is a recognised leader in its market and is going through an exciting period of innovation, investment and transformation. Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will join a dynamic and highly collaborative legal team, providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice across the UK business. This is a broad general commercial position where you will act as a trusted legal adviser to stakeholders across the organisation. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements. Advising on general commercial and contractual matters across the business. Partnering with senior stakeholders and providing clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice. Identifying and managing legal and contractual risk while helping the business achieve its commercial objectives. Supporting on compliance or data protection where needed Working closely with commercial, procurement, sales, marketing, IT and other business functions. Supporting the Head of Legal on wider legal and strategic matters. Helping develop legal processes, templates and best practice across the organisation. You will be a UK-qualified solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE and a strong grounding in commercial contracts and general commercial law. Ideally, you will have trained and developed your early career within private practice, giving you strong technical foundations, although candidates with particularly relevant in-house experience will also be considered. Beyond technical ability, the team is looking for someone commercial, pragmatic and personable. You will enjoy getting close to the business, building relationships with senior stakeholders and finding practical solutions rather than simply identifying legal risks.
