International Commercial Litigation & Arbitration Associate
London | Associate | c. 2-4 PQE
We are working on an excellent opportunity for a disputes associate to join one of London's leading international litigation and arbitration practices.
This is a broad role spanning high-value commercial litigation, international arbitration and investor-state disputes , with additional exposure to public international law, EU law and competition litigation.
Litigation and arbitration operate as one integrated practice, allowing associates to work across the full lifecycle of a dispute - from substantive proceedings and interim applications through to hearings, enforcement and related cross-border litigation.
The work
The team handles complex, high-value disputes for major corporates, financial institutions, investors and sovereign entities. Matters include:
- English and cross-border commercial litigation
- International commercial and investor-state arbitration
- Shareholder, JV, M&A and post-M&A disputes
- Energy, infrastructure, technology and financial services disputes
- Interim relief, jurisdictional challenges and enforcement
- Competition, public international law and sovereign-related disputes
Matters are frequently multi-jurisdictional, with associates working across Europe, the US, Asia, Latin America and offshore jurisdictions.
Why consider it?
A major attraction is the combination of breadth, advocacy and early responsibility . The team operates with lean case teams and has significant in-house advocacy capability, giving associates meaningful exposure to hearings as well as substantive drafting, evidence and case strategy.
The opportunity offers:
- High-value, complex international disputes
- Exposure to hearings and advocacy
- Lean teams and early substantive responsibility
- Commercial and investor-state arbitration
- English court and cross-border litigation
- Regular international and cross-office work
This would particularly suit an ambitious disputes lawyer who wants greater ownership of cases, exposure to advocacy and a genuinely international practice , without having to specialise exclusively in either litigation or arbitration.
