SSQ is partnering with a high-growth fintech business to recruit a 2-4PQE Commercial Legal Counsel to join its expanding legal team in London. Suited to someone who trained in private practice and has worked in-house or had secondment experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer looking to take on broad responsibility within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will gain exposure to a wide range of legal matters spanning commercial contracts, product development, data protection and regulatory issues.

Key Responsibilities- Draft, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including technology, SaaS, software development, outsourcing, marketing and strategic partnership contracts.
- Partner with business teams on the launch of new products, services, promotions and operational initiatives.
- Advise on data protection matters, including privacy notices, data processing agreements and wider compliance queries.
- Work closely with Compliance and Risk teams on regulatory matters.
- Draft and maintain customer-facing terms and conditions and related documentation.
- Support the implementation and development of legal technology solutions, including contract lifecycle management and AI-assisted legal tools.
- Provide advice across a range of legal matters, including intellectual property, employment, property and disputes.
- Deliver practical legal training and guidance to stakeholders across the business.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisers where required.
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 2-5 years' PQE.
- Training from a recognised law firm.
- Previous in-house experience.
- Demonstrable experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts.
- Particular experience advising on technology-related agreements, including SaaS, software development and other IT arrangements.
- Experience within financial services or another regulated environment would be advantageous.
