MD, In-House Legal Search at SSQ – Building legal teams in-house

SSQ is pleased to partner with a global infrastructure fund with over $40bn AUM in their search for a deal-focused Private Equity / M&A lawyer. If you enjoy doing deals but want to move in-house to an active fund, this opportunity is for you.

The role is based in London, with a requirement to work in the office 4 days a week. The small legal team offers significant responsibility and a variety of roles, focusing on transactional work.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Drafting and reviewing M&A transaction documents, collaborating with investment and asset management teams, managing legal workstreams, coordinating with external counsel, and assisting with transaction execution.
2. Working with investment and asset management teams on the implementation and maintenance of management incentive plans.
3. Supporting the asset management team on portfolio company matters, including bolt-on M&A, corporate governance, HR, and financing transactions.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in corporate transactions, cross-border M&A, and private equity, preferably with some exposure to finance and capital markets (debt or equity) from a leading global law firm. Experience in infrastructure and/or energy transactions is highly desirable.
