Consultant at SSQ: The Legal Search Consultancy
Fully Remote | 8β9 Months (Potential Extension) | Β£80,000βΒ£90,000 per annum
A leading global renewable energy developer is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its EMEA legal team on a fixed-term basis. The organisation specialises in large-scale solar and battery storage projects and operates across multiple international markets, including a strong and expanding presence in the UK and Europe. The business is part of a major international energy group and delivers projects from early-stage development through construction and operation.
This role sits within the EMEA legal function and reports directly to the regional General Counsel. It offers a broad, high-quality in-house remit with a strong emphasis on real estate work related to UK-based renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on UK real estate matters including leases, options, agreements for lease and title due diligence.
- Manage land rights issues such as easements, wayleaves, access rights and grid-related land requirements.
Commercial & Corporate Support
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements and project documentation.
- Provide ad hoc support on corporate and potential M&A matters as required.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with development, planning, finance and commercial teams to facilitate project progress and identify/mitigate risks.
- Support UK-based project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer with strong UK real estate experience (energy/infrastructure, renewables or development sector experience advantageous).
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Strong commercial judgement and ability to collaborate effectively with non-legal stakeholders.
