Legal Counsel – Data Privacy West Sussex-based - flexible working In-house Legal Counsel role supporting a large, regulated UK business with a strong digital and data agenda Broad commercial remit with a clear focus on digital products, data, IT and privacy Exposure to UK and EU regulatory frameworks in a fast-moving environment Opportunity to lead legal input on major projects and initiatives Hybrid working model Advise on digital, data protection, privacy and technology matters across the business Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology contracts Act as legal lead for digital and data-driven projects Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess business impact Manage disputes and litigation within remit Coordinate with global legal and compliance stakeholders Ensure activities align with applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards UK-qualified solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (England & Wales) ~3+ years of post-qualification experience at a law firm or in-house ~ Strong experience in digital, IT and data protection/privacy law ~ Background in a regulated industry (e.g. life sciences, healthcare, technology, financial services) preferred ~ Confident operating independently on complex legal issues ~ Commercial, pragmatic approach to risk ~ Clear communicator, comfortable working with non-legal stakeholders High-impact work tied to digital transformation Well-resourced in-house legal function Stable organisation with long-term investment in technology and innovation
