The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated IP Litigation Paralegal to join its Intellectual Property team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with Partners and Associates on high-profile cases from pre-litigation stages through to trial, appeal, and conclusion. The successful candidate will play a key role in case management, hearing preparation, and supporting litigation strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and filing court briefs and related materials.
  • Managing and coordinating logistics for trials, appeals, and interim hearings.
  • Preparing bundles, exhibits, appendices, and pre-trial documents.
  • Handling document management, including production processes, document reviews, and litigation platforms.
  • Managing materials received from clients, opposing parties, and third parties (hard copies, electronic data, and physical evidence).
  • Conducting substantive research, including patents, patent histories, life sciences, and technology products.
  • Analyzing legal documents and materials, ensuring proper citation formatting.
  • Coordinating with external entities such as clients, government agencies, expert witnesses, consultants, and court personnel.
  • Assisting with business development, marketing materials, and practice group initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • Strong academic background, ideally with a law degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in IP litigation, particularly in patent litigation, is required.
  • Familiarity with court procedures, trial logistics, and filing documents with the High Court.
  • Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and UK/European patent litigation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and e-bundling platforms.
  • Understanding of online filing systems for the UK High Court and Court of Appeal.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
