A leading US law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Funds Lawyer to join its highly regarded investment funds team on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a top-tier practice advising prominent asset managers and sponsors on complex credit fund structures.

The Role

You will play a key role in advising on the formation, structuring, and ongoing operation of a range of credit and private debt funds, including direct lending, opportunistic credit, and special situations strategies. The position will involve close interaction with partners and clients, taking significant responsibility on transactions and providing commercially focused advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on the establishment and structuring of credit funds across multiple jurisdictions
  • Drafting and negotiating fund documentation, including LPAs, PPMs, and side letters
  • Supporting sponsor clients on regulatory and governance matters
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external counsel on cross-border matters
  • Mentoring junior lawyers where required

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified lawyer (US, UK, or other common law jurisdiction) with strong academic credentials
  • 5+ years’ experience in investment funds, with a clear focus on credit/private debt funds
  • Prior experience at a leading international or US law firm
  • Strong technical drafting skills and commercial judgment
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Immediate or short-notice start required
