We are seeking an experienced Interim Commercial Lawyer to join a well-known, fast-paced consumer-facing digital business for an initial 3β4 month period, with scope for the assignment to be extended.
Working closely with the wider legal team and stakeholders across the business, you will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of commercial matters. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable taking ownership of contracts, managing competing priorities and working at pace.
The Role
You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including:
- Marketing, advertising, sponsorship and promotional agreements
- Customer-facing terms and conditions and related consumer documentation
- Services agreements and statements of work
- Supply and supplier agreements
- Technology, software, SaaS and IT agreements
- Data and digital-related contractual provisions
- Other general commercial contracts arising across the business
You will work directly with teams including Marketing, Technology, Procurement, Operations and other commercial functions, helping stakeholders understand legal risk and reach practical solutions. The role will also involve advising on general commercial and consumer law matters, supporting contract negotiations from initial review through to signature, and helping the legal team manage a varied workload during a busy period.
About You
You will be a qualified lawyer with strong commercial contracts experience gained either in-house or within a recognised law firm. Previous experience working within a consumer, e-commerce, retail, technology or digital business would be particularly useful.
You should be confident independently drafting and negotiating contracts, able to communicate clearly with non-legal stakeholders, and comfortable balancing legal risk with commercial objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial lawyer who can quickly get up to speed and make an immediate contribution within a dynamic and collaborative business.
