SSQ is pleased to exclusively partner with the legal team of the ring-fenced asset manager appointed by a leading UK HQ global alternative real estate investment manager in Mayfair, which provides dedicated Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loan asset management, deal underwriting and execution services. Transactions comprise of prominently located assets within the UK and Europe and investments span prime office, hotels, student development, build-to-rent, and build-to-sell residential and logistics. This is an opportunity for a real estate finance lawyer to work alongside a very well capitalised investor and one of the most active Real Estate Debt funds, which also undertakes Value Add Real Estate deals, with a large and growing REF platform, managing complex, multi‑billion‑pound loan portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and evaluating new lending opportunities and the management of existing loan relationships.
  • Assisting with the legal aspects of investments, from pre-funding through the documentation to the asset management phase.
  • Direct lending transactions (for both investment and development assets across a variety of sectors).
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various finance agreements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a REF lawyer with at least 5PQE, experienced in complex, cross-border real estate financing.

Work Environment

The team are office based 5 days a week but you can be assured of a great work/life balance, with no expectation of evening or weekend work.
