Company Secretary Assistant

SSQ is partnering with a specialist governance advisory firm to recruit an Executive or Senior Executive (depending on experience) to join its growing company secretarial team in Central London.
This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified governance professional looking to build on their existing company secretarial experience and gain exposure to a range of industries and listed environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing board meeting agendas and compiling digital board packs
- Attending board meetings and producing high-quality draft minutes
- Drafting AGM notices and supporting documentation
- Reviewing annual report disclosures against applicable corporate governance codes
- Maintaining digital statutory books and company records
- Filing statutory and regulatory notifications with relevant authorities
- Maintaining Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) insider lists and related records
- Supporting corporate transactions, including IPOs and other key corporate events
- Conducting technical research into client queries relating to legal, regulatory and governance matters
Candidate Requirements
- At least 18 months’ experience in a company secretarial or governance role
- Currently studying towards the CGI qualification (or recently started)
- Minimum 2:1 degree in law, finance, history, English or a related subject
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly advanced formatting in Word
- Working knowledge of the Companies Act 2006
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A collaborative, team-focused attitude
