5+ years of UK experience in regulated governance work

This UK financial services company is hiring an Assistant Company Secretary with regulated experience to assist the Company Secretarial team with day-to-day governance, projects and meeting support.

Requiring someone with experience in leading governance projects and 5+ years of experience in a financial services organisation. You will be working in a fast-growing and entrepreneurial business and helping to grow the function.

The role:

  • Help manage the governance infrastructure necessary to manage a growing and fast-changing group.
  • You will keep the governance framework and the policies and processes that support good governance up to date to reflect changes in governance as well as to reflect legal, regulatory and market developments
  • Provide expert company law and governance advice and support to stakeholders
  • Manage the statutory books and filings, ensuring that all filings are made promptly
  • Meeting support and governance, including minute taking (primarily at the executive level but with some minuting of board and board committee level and other meetings).
  • Manage the insurance arrangements and oversee the annual renewal process
  • Shareholder communication and relationships
  • Manage and maintain the Authorised Signatory List and oversee the process for keeping it up to date
  • You will support the Company Secretary and Deputy Company Secretary

Requirements:

  • ICSA qualification as a company secretary or a qualified solicitor
  • 5+ years of work experience in governance and company secretarial
  • A good working knowledge of banking and financial services that enables you to apply your technical and governance experience in a practical way to any issue.

  • English speaking with excellent written and verbal communication skills – you must be able to produce high-quality minutes and papers to the Board and Board and Executive level committees
  • Super-efficient, proactive, practical and well organised
  • Ability to effectively plan and execute projects to build relationships and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A positive can-do attitude, the drive to make a difference and to make your mark
