Rail Gourmet (RG) is a proud part of the SSP Group and we are a leading provider of food, beverage and specialist solutions to the train industry, offering a one‑stop shop solution – from logistics and supply chain, concept, marketing and retail, to menu and product, technology and on‑board service.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Driver Class 2.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete safe loading and unloading of vehicles, to ensure products are not damaged and are protected from tampering whilst in transit.
- Ensure that deliveries can be made safely and in accordance with the loading schedule.
- Check goods off with customer and obtain the required signature and print for sensitive documents.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external staff.
- Drive the vehicle in a safe manner and comply with all Road Traffic Regulations.
- Comply with EU Driving Hours and the EU Working Time Directive.
- Complete daily checks, ensure vehicles are kept clean and tidy, comply with company fuel directives and report any issues or damage.
- Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company’s accident reporting procedure.
- Attend essential and Driver CPC training, in order to carry out the driver role.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures (inc Dress Code, Performance and H+S).
Essential Requirements
- Category C Licence
- Driver CPC
- Driver’s Tachograph Card
- A good understanding of written and verbal English
- UK Driving licence (Max 3 penalty points, no DD convictions)
- Ability to work shift patterns on 5 days out of 7
Desirable Requirements
- Previous tail lift and refrigeration unit experience
- A good knowledge of the London road network
- Previous multi‑drop / collection experience
