Ince Surgery is seeking a compassionate and proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support the delivery of high-quality patient care within our busy GP surgery. Working under the direct supervision of the practice nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
Main duties of the job:
- ECG
- Urine analysis
- Maintenance and cleaning equipment
- Stocking drugs and equipment
- NHS Patient Health Checks including height and weight
- Re-stocking consultation rooms
- Home visits

Job responsibilities:
- ECGs
- NHS Health Checks
- Routine health screening
- Chronic disease monitoring support
- Wound care & dressings
- Administering B12 injections, Shingles, Pneumococcal and flu vaccinations (if appropriately trained)
- Assisting with minor surgery and clinics
- Maintaining clinical equipment and stock
- Updating patient records accurately on the clinical system
- Supporting the nursing team and GPs as required
- Promoting health education and wellbeing
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSE grade C and above
- Qualified in Phlebotomy
- Have Health and Social Care Qualification
Experience:
- Experience of working in a care environment
- Previous experience of working in general practice desirable
