About the Role
Working within a wider finance team the role will be primarily responsible for assisting with the financial accounting and forecasting of key expenditure lines for UK, Ireland & Netherlands business and reporting into the Business Support Accountant.
The role is varied, from processing period end journals and data processing to balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. You will collaborate with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
What you\’ll be doing:
- Processing month end journals and reviewing actual P&L performance against forecast. This will include timely posting of accruals and prepayments and providing clear commentary on key P&L variances against forecast.
- Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts ensuring their accuracy and completeness. Investigating any variances and highlighting to Business Support Accountant.
- Prepare and post monthly payroll received from third party. Ensure any ad-hoc payments are completed as required.
- Assist in the completion of documentation for internal and external audits
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process for Overheads, Services and Maintenance expenditure.
- Respond to P&L queries from other departments and wider finance team.
- Production of periodic and ad-hoc reports that are easily understood for non-finance users
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy in data and assumptions
- Provide ad hoc support to wider finance team.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Essential
- 3+ years accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Accustomed to working to tight deadline
Desirable
- Experience in using SAP ERP System
- AAT or equivalent qualification
