We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Community Outreach Co-ordinator to help increase participation in adult learning across Somerset. This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys working with diverse communities, developing partnerships, and promoting the benefits of lifelong learning.
As our Community Outreach Co-ordinator, you will be the face of adult learning within local communities. You will engage directly with residents, community groups, employers, charities, and partner organisations to encourage participation in our courses and programmes. You will identify learning needs within communities, promote opportunities that support personal development, wellbeing, employment, and skills, and work collaboratively with partners to bring learning opportunities into local venues and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote adult learning opportunities to individuals and community groups across Somerset.
- Attend community events, networking meetings, and local engagement activities.
- Deliver presentations and information sessions to community organisations and partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with voluntary organisations, charities, local authorities, employers, and community leaders.
- Identify opportunities to develop learning provision that meets local needs.
- Support prospective learners to identify suitable courses and overcome barriers to participation.
- Work closely with curriculum teams to communicate community learning needs and opportunities.
- Monitor outreach activity and contribute to meeting learner recruitment targets.
- Represent the organisation professionally and positively within the community.
