We are the Mechanical and Electrical section of Integrated Water Services, better known as IWS M&E, and part of South Staffordshire Plc. IWS M&E provides pump diagnostics and refurbishment, project management, telemetry, chemical dosing and control, instrumentation installation and maintenance, environmental management, plant and infrastructure maintenance, and emergency response. These services and cost-efficient solutions for water, wastewater, and environmental problems are provided 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year anywhere in the UK. About the job:
- Reporting to the Lead CAD Technician
- Use a variety of CAD software programmes to create designs in 2D and 3D (Autodesk and Solidworks)
- Work alongside the Project, Engineering & Operation teams to eliminate or reduce risk during the design stages.
- Create high-quality detailed technical drawings, plans and general arrangements.
- Produce BOM’s to assist with material purchasing
- Production and management of 3D models
- Liaise with other team members in a multi-disciplinary environment to achieve design solutions to the client’s specification.
- Develop and manage site survey data both new and historical to aid the development of design.
- Carry out site visits and surveys to gather information to progress designs
- Organising final production of the as-built model and drawings
About the successful applicant:
- Be well organised, IT literate in design software such as Solidworks and Autodesk
- Have a knowledge of engineering principles and ability to create and read technical drawings
- Have a flexible approach to decision making, to make changes to drawings at short notice
- Be a team player and be accountable
- Ideally have appropriate experience and a technical understanding of M&E requirements within the water industry, but not essential
- Be a ‘can do’ person with excellent verbal and written communication skills
