  • Project Engineering: Project Engineering is a core technical department within SSEN Transmission. Our summer placement programme will provide you with experience of working at the centre of the transition to Net Zero.
  • HVDC Engineering: With new renewable energy projects in the North of Scotland needing to be connected to the National Grid and the electricity transported large distances from areas of Generation to areas of Demand, HVDC (High-voltage direct current) is the most efficient way to do this.

  • System Performance: System Performance Engineers undertake power system studies to support the integration of low carbon generation and related technologies onto the transmission system in the north of Scotland.
  • System Engineering And Investment: A team of techno-economic modelling experts as well as power system and investment engineers who are responsible for growth-related capital investment throughout the lifecycle of a project from initial development through to energisation.
