Salary: £42,600 - £64,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
SSEN Transmission has an opportunity for a Senior Energy Analyst to join our Strategic System Planning Function.
Your work delivered within this role will contribute to strategies, investments and external positioning, in areas including north of Scotland future energy scenarios and energy trends, long term network development and energy system modelling.
You will
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of the impact of changing markets and competitor behaviours as well as other influences in the business environment including economic developments, regulation, policy and customer behaviour. Working knowledge of Energy System Modelling tools e.g. PLEXOS, energyPro etc.
- Read and interpret energy industry scenarios and forecasts with an understanding of regulated markets and organisational development.
- Have quantitative and qualitative analytical capability with the ability to handle and analyse large quantities of data and information coupled with extensive experience within a research/insight/energy analysis role.
- Exhibit positive influencing skills with the ability to find answers within a diverse engineering-focused organisation. Ability to manage and influence multiple internal stakeholders.
- Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to work quickly, accurately and independently, to highly detailed briefs whilst under pressure. We are always interested in new ways of working and will look to you for innovative ideas to improve processes and move the business forwards.
- Experience within a energy system modelling/research role.
- Experience as a subject expert in at least one energy generation technology (e.g. thermal plant, hydro, wind etc.)
- Understanding of the impact of changing markets and competitor behaviours as well as other influences in the business environment including economic developments, regulation, policy and customer behaviour.
- Quantitative and qualitative analytical capability with the ability to handle and analyse large quantities of data and information.
- Ability to read and interpret energy industry scenarios and forecasts and present these to multiple internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrable relevant experience with proficiency in using Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of Excel.
