Base Location: For these roles, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you\'ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the office – Glasgow, Perth, Inverness, Aberdeen
Salary: Up to circa £65,000 + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The role
As part of the SSEN Transmission Pathway to 2030 programme of works, we are looking for three Project Engineers — two permanent positions and one 15‑month fixed‑term contract — to join our multi‑disciplined engineering team and help develop and deliver our project portfolio ranging in value from £10m to £1bn.
You will
- Drive the project team in the development and delivery of projects across transmission providing leadership, co-ordination, and ownership of interfaces between multiple technical disciplines where required.
- Build and maintain productive and enduring relationships with Contractors, Consultants, Stakeholders and Communities to support the sustainable delivery of the projects that you are responsible for.
- Work closely with our engineers and managers to help ensure that engineering design risks are identified and mitigated to ensure appropriate measures are put in place for the pre-construction and construction phase.
- Prepare and co-ordinate design assurance reviews and the delivery of key project Gate documentation as per Large Capital Projects Governance.
- Drive design maturity and delivery of scope to required quality and programme whilst ensuring all contractor deliverables are signed off accordingly.
You have
- Experience of project development, within Transmission or a similar industry, through the optioneering and initial design phases, with an ability to develop the optimum project solution, deliver to timescales and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience of developing, managing and reporting on significant projects and an understanding of the electrical network and civil works within the Transmission business would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other key relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- The ability to problem solve with the strength of character to ensure critical matters are addressed by the project teams.
- Enthusiasm and resilience with excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and make key decisions.
The role requires a full current driving licence due to the requirement to travel to and be on site.
