Overview
As a Product Owner within the Project Services Centre of Excellence (CoE) at SSEN Transmission, you’ll take ownership of the systems and digital products that support the delivery of our large capital projects. With a £30bn investment programme by 2030, your role will be vital in ensuring we meet our Net Zero commitments and deliver the infrastructure Scotland and the UK need. This is your opportunity to lead innovative product development in a high impact, purpose driven environment. Working across Onshore, Offshore and Development project teams, you’ll drive system adoption and shape the tools that underpin the success of our projects.
Location, Salary and Working Pattern
Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations – Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen.
Salary: £50,100 – £75,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the vision and roadmap for key systems used in managing our capital project portfolio, such as IPM and any future project services systems.
- Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate needs into prioritised development backlogs, ensuring value delivery at every stage.
- Act as the voice of the customer, driving product evolution through feedback, performance evaluation and continuous improvement.
- Lead system adoption, training, and engagement across the business to ensure products are fully embedded and delivering their intended impact.
- Manage the full product lifecycle – from strategic planning and design to delivery, maintenance and change management.
You have
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager ideally in large infrastructure, utilities, or engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in agile delivery teams.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into product roadmaps and technology solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to influence at all levels and across functions.
- Experience managing complex systems and driving user adoption across large or distributed organisations.
