The predicted salary is between 48100 - 60000 £ per year.

Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office - Perth, Glasgow, Inverness or Aberdeen.

Salary: £58,100 - £75,000 + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.

The role:

  • As a Regional Senior Cable Project Engineer, you will provide specialist engineering support on high profile and technically complex projects.
  • You will be responsible for reviewing or approving designs through the development and execution phases.
  • You will support and guide Engineers within the cable discipline, encouraging their development and contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture across the wider Transmission Engineering team.
  • Use your expertise to thoughtfully review and provide constructive feedback on engineering decisions, helping projects progress with clarity and shared understanding.
  • Champion best practice in cable design by offering considered improvements in specifications, technology choices and approaches to managing engineering risks.
  • Foster a strong safety culture by applying CDM procedures with care, ensuring all engineering activities are carried out responsibly and in line with company, HSE and industry requirements.
  • Work inclusively with Engineering Managers and Project Managers to ensure Engineering and Quality risks are clearly understood, communicated and addressed to support successful project delivery.

You have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, ideally with Chartered status or working towards it, with experience in transmission development, design or specification.
  • The ability to approach complex engineering issues with balanced judgement, evaluating options thoughtfully and offering well-reasoned, collaborative solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of High Voltage Cables and experience working on the Transmission Network, with a commitment to high-quality, reliable engineering outcomes.
  • A strong appreciation of legal and regulatory responsibilities in Transmission, including CDM and ESQCR, and a proactive, conscientious approach to maintaining compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to explain technical matters clearly and build trusting, positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
