The predicted salary is between 50000 - 75000 £ per year.
Base Location: Flexible Scotland. We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however, need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around Scotland – preferably Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness.
Salary: £50,100 - £75,100 + car/car allowance + performance‑related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role involves:
- Ensuring the robustness and compliance of our SHW Management System, aligning it with SSE Group standards, ISO standards, and legal requirements.
- Developing, maintaining, and implementing a certifiable SHW Management System.
- Supporting the business in mitigating SHW risks and driving improvements through a structured assurance and audit programme.
- Coordinating and contributing to the external ISO certification audits.
- Providing critical risk‑based SHW governance and assurance support.
- Driving risk mitigation strategies and spearheading the development and implementation of a certifiable SHW Management System.
- Maintaining SHW documentation and collaborating with stakeholders to develop proactive risk strategies.
- Acting as a key liaison between the SHW team and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication of SHW standards and updates.
You have:
- Extensive experience in the application of SHW Management Systems in electricity networks, major construction, or complex project environments.
- A degree in SHW or Business Management qualification with extensive experience in SHW audit processes.
- A strong understanding of SHW legal frameworks, ISO 45001 and ISO 45003, industry regulations, policy development, risk assessment and best practices within a high‑risk industry.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and support all levels of stakeholders.
- A commitment to fostering a high‑performance SHW culture within the organisation.
