This Project Manager role sits within the SSEN Transmission Offshore Team and involves managing complex projects that the company will develop and deliver in the coming years. With a large and growing portfolio, there are opportunities for progression within the business. Reporting to the Lead Project Manager, you will support the development and management of projects across the Offshore Portfolio, ensuring consistency and timely delivery of projects in line with SSE’s Large Capital Project Governance Framework. You will work closely with package teams and stakeholders across the business to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Integration Management: oversee coordination and integration of multiple project packages, ensuring consistency and timely delivery in line with SSE’s Large Capital Project Governance Framework and decision gate requirements.
- Coordinate Stakeholders: facilitate effective communication and collaboration across all stakeholders to ensure alignment and readiness for key decision points.
- Ensure Compliance and Governance: serve as a subject-matter expert in Governance and Assurance, supporting project activities to meet internal governance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor Performance and Report Progress: track project milestones and deliverables, preparing and presenting regular progress reports that highlight risks, issues and mitigation strategies.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: identify and implement process enhancements and best practices to improve project efficiency and delivery, incorporating industry trends and insights into project management approaches.
Qualifications and Experience
- People management experience and a passion for safety, with an understanding of project management methodology; coupled with an engineering, construction or project management qualification/degree or equivalent experience.
- The ability to manage the integration of various projects, packages and stakeholders to ensure consistency and timely delivery of projects in line with SSE’s Large Capital Project Governance Framework.
- Experience acting as a key point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the project, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among all parties.
- Engineering or construction knowledge and understanding, including environmental and safety legislation such as the CDM 2015 regulations.
- Experience with the governance, reporting and management requirements for large projects and/or programmes of work in a regulated environment.
