Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office - Inverness, Perth, Aberdeen or Glasgow.

The Role: Our Transmission business has a large portfolio of projects across Scotland, and we are looking for a Lead Project Coordinator to join us on our journey. As Lead Project Coordinator, you will manage a team of Project Coordinators that have the key role of supporting their stakeholders to successfully deliver projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a people-focused environment and is passionate about helping teams succeed. This is a 16 month Fixed Term Contract Opportunity.
You Will:
- Manage a team of Project Coordinators ensuring a high level of service, meeting deadlines, producing work to a high standard and coordinating their workload in a very busy role.
- Have experience of Line Manager duties, including dealing with confidential matters, mentoring and training.
- Forecast the correct level of resource to ensure the team is sufficiently staffed.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure a high level of service is being delivered and always improving the team’s performance.
- Play an active role in ensuring the team meets key milestones in line with the LCP Governance Framework and adheres to critical deadlines, having a background in project delivery.
You Have:
- Experience of working in a similar project-focused industry.
- Line Manager experience or experience of training and developing individuals, demonstrating confidence to manage a team.
- Experience of working to deadlines and the ability to manage the team’s workload, with flexibility to deal with change.
- Confidence working in a team environment, chairing meetings, implementing change.
- Competent administration and IT skills.
The successful candidate would be expected to travel between different SSE offices/project sites, with the occasional overnight stay. Therefore, a driving license is required.
