About the Role Base Location: Flexible Scotland | We’re proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however, need your base ‘home’ location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around Scotland, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness. Salary: £47,600 – £71,600 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family. Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available We have an exciting opportunity for a Telecoms Project Manager to become part of the Transmission Technical Services team, focusing on executing projects that align with our RIIO-T2 and T3 network development and delivery strategies. The main duties and responsibilities of the Telecoms Project Manager are: – Managing the delivery of substation connectivity and capability enhancement projects. – Managing cross project dependencies, ensuring activities are joined up from an operational and delivery point of view. – Establishing and maintaining highly effective relationships within projects, and other project teams to ensure that works are interfaced correctly. – Management of 3rd party contractors, acting as a conduit between organisation and contractor, monitoring contractor performance. – Managing works on large substation sites, with a strong awareness of Operational Safety Rules and general safety culture. What do I need? – Knowledge of the UK energy industry and previous experience of being part of multisite, network wide infrastructure projects. – A good working knowledge of Project Management methodologies, ideally with a recognised certification and/or professional membership. – A confident and clear communicator, you will be highly motivated, flexible in your approach and able to complete tasks within defined timescales. – Possess the ability to work in a technical and organisationally complex environment with a robust problem resolution mindset. – Knowledge of SDH/PDH and IP networks including functions specific to Transmission electricity systems specifically the role of reliable, fit for purpose telecoms infrastructure.
