About the Role: Project Management Opportunities Base Location: Flexible Scotland | We’re proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and these roles are no exception. We will however need your base ‘home’ location to be one of our SSE offices across Scotland (Inverness/Aberdeen/Perth). Salary: £55,200 – £83,000 + car/cash allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing. Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available. We have a fantastic opportunity for Project Managers to join the SSEN Transmission Capital Development and Delivery team and lead projects on exciting large capital projects across our Transmission business. Projects are of varying scale and complexity with typical project values ranging from £50m – £500m+. Interested to find out more about our projects? Senior Delivery and Delivery Project Managers: To lead the delivery stage of large complex electricity transmission construction projects to supports Scotland’s Net Zero ambitions. Experience managing large electricity transmission projects would be great but, experience in managing major projects from other industries, coupled with the desire and ability to learn quickly is equally valid. The key responsibilities involved include: – Leading the SSE team and managing multiple external contractors, to ensure project excellence is achieved and we deliver on our promises. – Managing the development and execution of large capital projects, ensuring the safe delivery to programme, cost and the necessary quality. – Ensuring the project adheres to our Safety Management Systems, best practices and the SSE Large Capital Projects (LCP) Governance processes. – Demonstrate alignment with the SSE Safety Culture and core leadership values. What do I need? – A strong project management, engineering or construction background and understanding of applicable health and safety regulations including CDM regulations -Excellent communication and leadership skills with aproven track record in the successful delivery of large projects. -Contractual management experience (NEC3 experience is preferable), with the ability to forecast and control costs as well as develop and manage integrated project programmes. Due to the location of our projects, there is a need to have a driving licence and, for delivery focussed roles, a willingness to travel to site 2-3 days a week during construction Lack experience but are still interested? If you have a background in project management within another industry or are looking to move into a project management role, please do apply. We may be able to offer an Assistant Development Project Manager role with the ability to transition to a Development Project Manager role once the necessary experience has been gained.
