What is the Role?
As a WTG O&M Engineer, you’ll play a key role at the heart of the Dogger Bank Operations & Maintenance team—supporting one of the world’s most significant offshore wind projects. This is a unique opportunity to be involved from the early commissioning stages through to long-term operations, giving you full lifecycle exposure to turbine performance and reliability.
In the early phase, you’ll take ownership of turbine commissioning, acceptance, and handover—ensuring each asset meets the highest standards before entering service. As the wind farm transitions into full operations, your focus will shift toward maintenance strategy, fault diagnosis, and performance optimisation, helping maximise energy output and asset reliability. This is a hands-on and highly collaborative role, combining offshore field support with data-driven engineering. You’ll work closely with OEMs, contractors, and internal stakeholders, influencing technical decisions and driving continuous improvement across the fleet.
You will:
- Lead turbine acceptance, commissioning, and handover activities while ensuring compliance with contractual, corporate, regulatory, and internal standards across the fleet, providing hands-on field support where required.
- Develop, document, and maintain a technical knowledge base to support engineering problem-solving, fault diagnosis, and provide key input into systems and service providers for analysis and rectification.
- Design, implement, and execute service quality walk-down check sheets, conducting detailed inspections to verify asset condition, safety, and performance.
- Track and manage engineering defects, working closely with OEMs and stakeholders to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct onsite monitoring, inspections, and coordination of maintenance activities, collaborating with specialist contractors and engaging internal and external stakeholders to ensure high standards of safety and technical performance.
You have:
- A qualification of HND level in an engineering or relevant experience in wind turbine, major components or rotational plant.
- Experience of technical support delivery including management of refurbishment activities for major components including root cause analysis.
- Competency in discussing machinery safety legislation and implementation of such through recognised safe systems of work.
- High level of competency in using IT systems and platforms such as Power BI, Power Automate, Python etc with capability in writing procedures and technical reports concisely and to a high standard.
- Understanding and ability to interpret and conduct data acquisition and analysis.
Flexible benefits to fit your life:
- Enjoy discounts on private healthcare and gym memberships.
- Wellbeing benefits like a free online GP and 24/7 counselling service.
- Interest-free loans on tech and transport season tickets, or a new bike with our Cycle to Work scheme.
- Generous family entitlements such as maternity and adoption pay, and paternity leave.
