This is a hands‑on role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced offshore environment, enjoys working closely with contractors and project teams, and takes pride in delivering complex systems safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
You will:
- Support onshore and offshore commissioning activities across the Dogger Bank offshore wind portfolio through to commissioning completion.
- Provide accurate reporting on commissioning progress, site activities, schedule, and risks, ensuring alignment with project plans and company procedures.
- Participate in pre‑energisation and system readiness activities, ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and ready for energisation.
- Interface effectively with contractors and joint venture partners, reviewing commissioning documentation, punch lists, and resolving issues via the project completions system.
- Promote high standards of safety, quality, and delivery, aligned with SSE’s Safety Family culture and project expectations.
You have:
- Experience in an electrical engineering environment, with exposure to LV/HV systems including HV cables, 33kV/66kV switchgear, WTG electrical systems, and SCADA.
- Knowledge of offshore wind farm construction, commissioning, or operations, gained in the UK or a comparable industrial sector.
- A relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship, preferably in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with WTSR or Operational Safety Rules is preferred but training can be provided.
