Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Site Based. This role is based on site five days per week. As no company vehicle or car allowance is provided, candidates should be able to travel to site independently.
Role Overview: SSEN Offshore Transmission Team is looking for a motivated and proactive Site Supervisor to support the delivery of the Spittal to Peterhead HVDC Cable Link. This is an exciting opportunity for a Site Supervisor experienced in the principles of construction and commissioning of major underground cabling work, ensuring strict adherence to the highest health, safety, environmental and quality standards, to join the Delivery team.
Responsibilities:
- Represent the SSEN Transmission business on-site as a key site-based point of contact, ensuring the suppliers carry out works in accordance with contractual requirements and SSEN policies and procedures.
- A key element of this will be measuring completed works against the works information for payment purposes and management of compensation events.
- Ensure the project is executed in accordance with relevant requirements, particularly relating to statutory and legal obligations, health and safety, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, quality & technical compliance, personnel and industrial relations.
- Work closely with the appointed contractor(s) and the Operations team to ensure the works are delivered to the project programme, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Act as a leader on site and champion for a positive safety culture.
- Ensure site activities comply with planning consents and SHE legislation, and routine reports and KPIs are submitted to the Project Manager.
Requirements:
- A solid understanding of engineering and construction practices, including site safety and compliance with CDM regulations.
- Proven experience in site supervision or construction on complex infrastructure or utilities projects; experience in underground cabling works is an advantage.
- Knowledge of project planning, with experience in monitoring progress against plans and implementing inspection and test plans to ensure quality.
- Confidence using computer systems, particularly common software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to track site progress and issues, and effectively represent the project team internally and externally.
Please note, a full current driving licence is essential due to the requirement to travel to and from various work locations.
