The role involves managing project delivery, directing technical outputs, overseeing procurement of simulation resources, and leading an engineering team. We are looking for someone with a strong track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects; experience with large power system models or real-time simulation facilities is desirable but not essential. We offer a supportive environment for skill development.

You will:

  • Take charge of the LENS project as Senior Engineer, overseeing its engineering and commercial delivery, managing the project lifecycle and stakeholder engagement, ensuring technical excellence, and guiding a dedicated team of engineers.
  • Shape the direction of the project and industry engagement by applying innovative thinking and drawing on international best practice.
  • Safeguard and manage power system models and intellectual property by establishing and maintaining effective processes for their protection and organisation.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers, reviewing their work and supporting their professional growth.
  • Lead communication and collaboration with internal and external clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure the project's success.

You have:

  • Demonstrable leadership in managing and delivering complex, large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and analysing large power system models and tools, including real-time simulation, as well as hardware-in-loop.
  • Strong technical expertise in electricity transmission networks and related core elements.
  • Skills in producing clear technical reports and effectively communicating complex topics to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborating and mentoring skills, providing technical leadership and supporting professional growth within engineering teams.

Our focus on this role is for an engineer who can own and deliver an innovative project. If you do not meet all these requirements but are excited about the role, we would love to hear from you.
