Base Location: You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Inverness, Elgin, Moray, Highlands or Aberdeenshire.

The Role: As an Electrical Networks Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical development of capital and connections projects across the distribution network, progressing schemes from initial feasibility through to approval for construction, in line with engineering standards.
You Will:
- Produce line route drawings, stage-by-stage plans, plant and equipment specifications and support contractor tendering and evaluation.
- Liaise with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to secure necessary land rights, ensuring projects are delivered compliantly, cost-effectively and to a high technical standard.
- Plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate health, safety, and environmental requirements during the pre-construction phase.
- Develop designs for underground cable, overhead line and substation projects up to 33kV, supporting network refurbishment, reinforcement, automation, and plant replacement programmes.
You Have:
- At least an HNC level qualification within a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in the design and construction of electrical distribution networks up to 33kV.
- Previous experience in applying the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 to technically complex projects.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills and able to convey your position in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency with using Microsoft Office applications along with knowledge of electrical network modelling and the NRSWA code of practice would be advantageous.
- The ability to build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, requiring first class communication and organisational skills.
Additional Information: This role involves travel across various locations to support business needs. To enable you to fulfil these responsibilities, a vehicle will be provided for work-related travel. A valid driving licence is essential.
