Overview
Project Management Summer Placement – Transmission
Duration: 12 weeks commencing June 2026
Base Location: Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Orkney, Shetland, Caithness, Western Isles or Peterhead
Salary: Circa £24,580 per annum (pro-rata)
Working Pattern: Fixed Term Contract | Full Time
Degree Disciplines: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Law or Commercial
Responsibilities
- Work as part of multi-disciplined teams to support projects across the Transmission business.
- Gain hands-on experience through a 12-week placement in one of our project management–based teams.
- Develop understanding of delivering projects in line with objectives, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering to time, cost and quality targets.
- Receive support from a business mentor and buddy to enable you to reach your potential.
- Collaborate in various contexts while taking ownership of your role and driving action forward, with opportunities for networking and specialist sessions.
What you need
- Degree disciplines including Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Law or Commercial.
- Practical work or project experience reflecting an interest in the energy sector and experience of working in a team.
- Ability to work to stretch targets, use your initiative to overcome challenges, and an interest in SSE and a long-term future with us.
