Project Engineering Graduate Programme (Transmission 2025 Intake)
Start Date: 22 September 2025
Base Locations: Inverness, Glasgow, Perth, or Aberdeen
Degree Disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or Material Science
Salary: Circa £33,500 per annum + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?
Engineering graduates joining SSEN Transmission will be at the forefront of building a better world of energy for future generations.
Project Engineering is a core technical department within SSEN Transmission. Our Graduate programme will prepare you for a challenging and exciting career at the centre of the transition to Net Zero. You will receive training to work on multimillion pound infrastructure projects covering innovations that will allow us to meet these technological challenges.
Year one of the programme will focus on providing you with the foundations of technical and business experience which you will build on in your second year with a focus on design and project experience. This is a Generalist pathway, seeking graduates with degrees in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Materials and Civil Engineering.
Project Engineering Graduates will follow a ‘generalist’ pathway. Generalists will have exposure across multiple departments where advised, gaining a breadth of knowledge to return to their ‘home’ team. This pathway aims to provide relevant experience which will lead to a permanent substantive post on completion of the programme.
