An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Manager to join our Procurement and Supply Chain team, part of our Transmission P&C function, to develop and implement key procurement and supply chain solutions across a range of projects in our Networks Transmission business. The role will primarily support a very busy Support Contracts area, which incorporates consultancy and professional services support.

Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Manager will support project teams and business unit stakeholders by delivering procurement strategies and contracts, and by providing robust pre and post contract management including supply chain engagement and SRM to support business goals and objectives.

You will:

  • Take ownership of a specific subject area/assist the Senior Supply Chain Manager, and be the direct contact for Transmission customers ensuring supply chain intel is provided to Transmission customers in a coordinated and concise manner.
  • Lead the interface between Transmission and our Category Management teams to ensure demand requirements are properly communicated to permit group wide procurement strategies and contracts, whilst collating and consolidating supply chain intelligence required for Transmission project teams.
  • Ensure Transmission procurement strategies are incorporated within group-wide category plans, provide support to group-wide procurement events by coordinating Transmission information and requirements, monitor and report on procurement events and provide contract/framework information to Transmission Customers.
  • For ad-hoc tendering events that are Transmission specific, undertake the full range of tendering activities for events which fall within the subject area. This will include the collation of tender documentation, management of tender process, commercial analysis of contract/tender submissions, the negotiation and drafting of specific contract terms and recommending the appropriate contract award.

Demonstrate strong commercial acumen with well-developed interpersonal, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience delivering large frameworks/projects/programmes of work.

You have:

  • Quantity Surveying degree / CIPS or equivalent
  • Experience in managing supply chain activities
  • Experience of managing frameworks/contracts on significant projects or programmes of work
  • Experience of the procurement process, including strategy development and implementation, ideally within a regulated environment but this is not essential
  • Experience of NEC forms of contract, including contract drafting and contract administration
  • Professional qualifications - MRICS / MCIPS desirable
