Strategic Procurement Officer (IT & Telco)
SSE’s Energy Customer Solutions (ECS) division is the customer-facing arm of the SSE Group, delivering innovative low-carbon energy services across Great Britain and Ireland.
As an ECS IT Strategic Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for sourcing the supply of IT Software, Cloud, Services and Hardware in accordance with all internal policies and procedures and external legislation where applicable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support ECS Category Managers and Contract Managers in day-to-day tactical procurement activities.
- Develop contracting and sourcing strategies.
- Maximise value to the group and ensure robust contractual provisions to mitigate risks in contract delivery.
- Support relevant supplier relationship and performance management activities.
- Continually drive efficiencies in sourcing and the overall process.
Requirements:
- A broad knowledge of IT markets, including various aspects of Software, Services, Cloud and Hardware.
- A good understanding of IT contracts with a strong ability to draft special terms, including dispute procedures.
- Proficient in Procurement related systems, such as Oracle, Jaggaer and Achilles Utility Vendor Database.
- Target-focused and result-driven, with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build relationships with Stakeholders and Suppliers.
- Analytical and numeracy skills, with an ability to review contracts and identify commercial risk.
