We have a fantastic opportunity for a Substation Inspector to join our team! As a Substation Inspector you will be responsible for carrying out the routine safety and condition inspections of our Distribution Assets, covering all plant types and voltages associated with the Distribution Network.
In addition to conducting inspections, you will also be responsible for vegetation clearance activities across various conditions and weather. This is a two-part role: during the first 6 months, you’ll focus on ground maintenance and substation clearance, and for the following 6 months, you’ll shift to substation inspections.
You will be:
- Carrying out inspections of equipment at substation sites and ensuring sites are cleared of vegetation to allow access to the site and equipment at all times.
- Gathering accurate information to ensure we comply with health and safety regulations and document it in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures.
- Identifying potential faults with the distribution network and following the escalation process to get resource to site whilst being committed to working safely at all times.

You will have:
- An understanding of a Distribution Network Operations (DNO) business.
- An understanding of the ESQC Regulations. Safety is one of our key priorities, so you should have the ability to risk assess activities throughout your working day and to work within our Health and Safety guidelines.
- An understanding of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
- Asbestos and confined space awareness.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- A full driving license is essential due to the requirement to travel to various locations.
