The Role
Energy Markets (EM) is the commercial heart of the SSE Group, securing value for SSE\’s asset portfolios in wholesale energy markets as we move towards our vision of being a leading energy company in a net zero world. EM plays a critical role as the asset optimiser, route to market and risk management function for all SSE\’s Business Units (Wind, Hydro, Low Carbon Thermal, Distributed Energy and Customer portfolios). EM enables SSE to focus its expertise and capabilities in energy markets (including Trading, Risk Management, Energy Economics and Advanced Analytics) in one centre of excellence and, with these enhanced capabilities, support value creation and decision-making across the SSE Group.
You Will
- Providing Quality Assurance guidance to improve the quality of your team\’s overall output including technical guidance to colleagues.
- Delivering full life-cycle Test management services from Test Design, through to Testing and Defect management and reporting.
- Delivery Test automation services through the writing, programming, and running automated tests and regression suites and running of scanning tools for Security and Operational quality control.
- Active participation in team planning events and co-ordination duties.
You Have
- Development skills including Programming Proficiency, CI / CD pipelines and Database knowledge: Strong knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, C#, .NET and Git source control to create and manage test scripts.
- Test Automation: Experience of MS Playwright and Selenium for web application testing and API testing and performance, Load Testing and UI Desktop experience.
- Methodological skills including agile and scrum, DevOps, Test Design & defect management and Problem solving.
- Experience of leading Quality Assurance activities end-to-end from Test Design through to Defect management and reporting.
