The role
As SSEN Transmission expands and refines it\'s IT Service portfolio there is an ever increasing demand for system and data integration. The Senior Technical Specialist - Data Integration role will be a key role in managing and refining our position with this demand in mind. The role will play an integral part in refining Transmission\'s data integration platform on Azure and facilitate far greater integrations to be created in our portfolio, leading to more centralised control of our key data sets. Some of the responsibilities for this role are defined below:
You will
- Define, refine and implement integration standards in support of SSEN Transmission business services.
- Lead a team to Integrate and configure various software systems to work together, ensuring data is properly exchanged and utilized. Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure integrations meet technical and business requirements.
- Ensure that the solutions are aligned with data governance policies, compliance requirements, and best practices for cloud architecture (working closely with our Cloud Engineering team).
- Perform analyses of varied source and target systems and their data models as well as the data contained therein to facilitate effective data extraction, data transformation, and data loading from legacy systems to go forward systems.
- Maintaining precise and accurate documentation of solutions and supporting cross-skilling across the wider team.
You have
- Solid experience in a similar data integration / development type role.
- Experience of creating well architected solutions, leveraging Azure Integration Services such as Azure DataFactory (ADF), Azure Functions, Service Bus, API Management, Logic Apps, Event Grid, App Insights, Log Analytics etc.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and practices for automating integration deployment, testing and operation. Including pipelines, version control and configuration management.
- You’ll have strong knowledge in integration design, development and management of APIs, Web Services (REST/SOAP), messaging protocols and data formats.
- Ideally some development experience with data-centric languages such as .Net and Python.
