The predicted salary is between 42600 - 64000 £ per year.

Base Location: Flexible UK, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK sites, which includes but is not limited to: Glasgow, Perth, Inverness, Aberdeen.

Salary: £42,600 - £64,000 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Onshore Wind, Solar and Battery Operations Safety Advisor is responsible for providing support, advice, and guidance on all aspects of compliance with the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) processes and practices across the Onshore Wind, Solar and Battery Asset Management Business. They will be responsible for supporting Onshore Wind, Solar and Battery operations and maintenance teams to achieve compliance with all company standards, statutory responsibilities, associated SHE and related works management and will support in introducing new ones where needed.

You will:

  • Be responsible for supporting the Onshore Wind, Solar and Battery operations sites across the UK to achieve compliance with company standards, statutory responsibilities associated SHE and related works management.
  • Work with the SSER SHE team to deliver the Safety Family requirements in line with the SSE Safety Family Programme, ensuring this is delivered in a clear, consistent and frequent way including working with contractors to develop stronger, safer and respectful relationships on site.
  • Support the implementation of the Onshore Wind, Solar and Battery Asset Management SHE Management System and ensure that elements of the site SHE management and other delegated responsibilities are regularly audited, reviewed, updated and they reflect the sites operations and best practices.
  • Support the Onshore Wind, Solar and Battery Operations training planning process, and where required develop, provide, and participate in toolbox talks, team briefings, safety stand downs etc. Participate at formal and informal SHE/Operations meetings.
  • Work with operational managers to ensure that all incidents/accidents are reported and recorded onto the SSE incident reporting database in accordance with MS-SHE-010. Assist with incident investigations, ensuring that investigation reports are completed to time and are uploaded onto the SSE incident reporting database, including actions and that incident reviews and lessons learned are conducted and/or shared at all formal SHE meetings.

You have:

  • A desirable Diploma or higher in a SHE qualification. Ideally hold an audit qualification, along with an incident root cause analysis qualification.
  • Member of a relevant industry body (IOSH) and GWO certification would be desirable. Essential operational training will be provided.
  • Experience gained in onshore or offshore wind, however candidates from other Generation backgrounds may hold the transferable skills we need.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and communicate key messages at all levels both on and off site.
  • The skills to influence and motivate a large team of multi-disciplined individuals and will set clear goals and objectives that SHE performance can be measured against.
  • A full driving license is essential due to the level of mobility required in this role. This role will involve some nationwide and UK travel.
  • The ability to integrate and work effectively within a team while being highly motivated, organised and reliable.
