The role
As Security Co-ordinator, you'll be working closely with SSE and our security service partner, to achieve the highest standards of safety and security across SSE Thermal sites, ensuring the effective protection of people, assets, and operations.
Some of your other main accountabilities will include
- Leading site security operations, ensuring effective communication, incident reporting, escalation management, and strong collaboration between SSE teams, Group Security, and security service partners.
- Maintaining security resourcing through appropriate staffing levels, covering absences and peak demand periods, and ensuring continuity of service.
- Developing and supporting security personnel through delivering training, onboarding, and guidance to ensure compliance with site-specific security requirements and procedures.
- Conducting security audits, inspections, and patrols, monitoring compliance, identifying risks, and driving the timely resolution of issues relating to access control, CCTV, perimeter security, and emergency systems.
- Overseeing site access and continuous improvement initiatives by successfully managing access control systems, supporting emergency response activities, and enhancing security processes, systems, and asset protection measures.
To be successful in this role, we would love you to have;
- Extensive demonstrable security expertise, encompassing safety, security operations, and asset protection.
- The ability to build effective stakeholder relationships, involving collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and service partners to deliver a coordinated security service.
- Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams through providing clear direction, support, and motivation to maintain exceptional security standards.
- A strong understanding of security systems and reporting tools, including maintaining accurate records, producing reports, and managing security information effectively.
- Proven ability in driving continuous improvement by applying an organised and analytical approach to strengthen security processes, asset protection, and operational performance while holding a valid SIA Licence.
