Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Reading/Forbury Place, Havant/Penner Road.

What is the Role? The cloud service delivery manager is responsible for end‑to‑end operations and contributing to the continual improvement of SSE’s cloud platforms and services. This includes end to end ownership and management of service performance, availability, capacity, incidents, and problems impacting service provision. The role is responsible and accountable for ensuring that SSE’s cloud services portfolio meets its customer’s requirements, regulatory and security policies. This is a critical operational role, overseeing the processes and teams involved in day‑to‑day service management. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with business acumen to deliver sustainable value through cloud services.

You will:

  • Be responsible for managing end‑to‑end service delivery and operations for cloud services.
  • Collaborate closely with technical leads within Cloud and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/vendors.
  • Ensure service delivery meets any agreed Operational or Service Level Agreements, spanning in‑house support functions and third‑party providers including monitoring service performance, availability, incidents, problems, changes, capacity, continuity.
  • Mature existing reporting to measure effectiveness of service delivery, leveraging KPIs and operational metrics to establish service quality.
  • Oversee incident, problem, change, release, and configuration management.
  • Review and improve cloud service management processes, policies and standards, aligning to ITSM standards defined by Group.
  • Identify improvement initiatives to enhance service reliability, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness.

You have:

  • Knowledge, experience, and a strong track record in a related operational or IT Service Management position, ideally within a complex, multi‑platform environment.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms or working with cloud hyper‑scalers (Azure, AWS, GCP etc) is desirable but not required.
  • A strong communicator, able to translate messages, simplify and summarise issues in a straightforward and succinct manner.
  • Flexible, able to adapt your style and methods, getting the best out of all resources required to successfully deliver.
  • Adaptable, able to recognise and gain sponsorship to make necessary adjustments or hard decisions to maintain focus and successful delivery.
  • Experience implementing industry best practice frameworks and methodologies, preferably ITIL & SIAM.
