Contracts Supervisor – Overview
Play a key role in delivering essential electricity infrastructure across the Thames Valley. As a Contracts Supervisor, you will oversee contractor-delivered overhead power line replacement works, from Low Voltage through to 33kV, helping to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards as part of our Capital Delivery Programme.
Based within Network Construction, you will join our Thames Valley Capital Delivery Team in SSEN's Southern licence area, replacing and upgrading electrical infrastructure for homes and businesses across Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Middlesex, and Buckinghamshire.
You will:
- Ensure work carried out under our projects is completed to SSEN standards and that completed works are correctly claimed to the agreed framework rates.
- Monitor quality and support identification and resolution of snags/defects.
- Ensure safety, health and environmental compliance via proactive monitoring and recorded inspections.
- Manage customer interface to secure land access and consent forms.
You have:
- Experience supervising operational or construction activities within a utilities, electrical or infrastructure environment.
- Knowledge of overhead line networks and electrical distribution systems (LV to 33kV desirable).
- A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance, with experience conducting site inspections.
- Experience monitoring contractor performance and ensuring work is completed to quality and contractual standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with customers, landowners and contractors.
A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
