The role Project Manager is responsible for construction project management activity, including project procurement, preparation of cost plans and cost analysis/management, contractual management using NEC 3, project execution and delivery. You will:
- Deliver multiple projects from design through to handover, covering new builds, refurbishments, and maintenance across Scotland and the islands.
- Coordinate internal teams and external contractors, ensuring day-to-day activities run smoothly and to plan.
- Partner with stakeholders across Commercial, Procurement, IT, Telecoms and FM to shape project briefs and governance documentation.
- Produce key project outputs including plans, progress reports, financial tracking, and risk & issue logs.
- Work collaboratively with consultants, engineers, architects, and project specialists to drive successful delivery.
- Ensure projects align with SSE project management standards, RIBA Plan of Work, and all relevant health, safety and compliance requirements.
You have:
- Educated to degree level in a construction related discipline or have substantial experience within a construction project management environment.
- Retain or working towards a recognised project management qualification e.g. Prince 2.
- Demonstrable construction project management skills as well as experience in project delivery in-line with the RIBA Plan of Work.
- An excellent understanding of construction related SHE requirements, including CDM regulations.
- Demonstrate an excellent understanding of construction contract management contracts (NEC 3 in particular) and administration of these.
- Ability to produce accurate and timely project progress reports that clearly articulate project progress, risks, issues, mitigation, finance update and provide senior management with the relevant level of assurance in terms of project delivery and governance arrangements.
