Base Location
Slough, Swindon, Oxford, Melksham, Andover, Yeovil, Poole New Forest, Portsmouth, Petersfield, Aldershot, West London or Reading. Must be within commuting distance of the depot.

£36,139 - £43,188 plus overtime & travel time available. City allowance: London allowance £3,000 for Slough/West London.

Job Description
We are an in‑house Electrical Construction Team looking for Low Voltage or High Voltage Electrical Construction Fitters to join our team in Southern England.
The role involves constructing electrical apparatus within substations on the electricity distribution network from 11k V up to 132k V.
Safety is the number one priority and consultation between all personnel is encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Deliver High Voltage construction projects in a live electricity substation environment in line with operational safety rules and safety legislation.
- Install and commission new CT metering apparatus.
- Operate telehandlers, mewps and construct mobile scaffolds (full training will be provided).
- Create and update a personal development plan with guidance from the line manager.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of installing electrical systems, containment, cabling, plant and small wiring.
- High regard for safety, understanding of CDM regulations and good communication skills.
- Experience with DC battery systems, internal panel wiring modification, multicore cable terminating and glanding, wiring circuit breakers, CTs/VTs to marshalling kiosks and control panels, AC/DC wiring and replacing 33k V outdoor circuit breakers and isolators.
- Preferred but Not Essential
- Knowledge of the electricity distribution network and experience of working in live electricity substation environments from 11k V - 132k V.
- Previous electricity network operational authorisations and qualifications in scaffold, telehandler, furzeweld, working at heights, confined space, asbestos, COSHH, Loler and SMSTS.
Driving Licence
A full, clean UK driving licence is essential. Flexibility in working hours and location is required due to extensive travel.
