Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in our Perth office.

Salary: £42,600 - £64,400 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available - To align with GB energy market opening hours the working hours of this role are 07:00-15:30 including a 1 in 4 weekend rotation with enhanced payment provided.

The Role: As a Prompt Planning Analyst, you’ll join a supportive, knowledgeable team where you can grow your understanding of how GB and international electricity and gas markets operate, and how hedging helps to stabilise revenue. This is a varied and energising opportunity to build capability across forecasting, commodity markets and performance reporting—working in a role where no two days are the same. You’ll be encouraged to learn, ask questions and contribute thoughtfully, while helping colleagues make well‑informed short‑term decisions across a diverse multi‑asset portfolio.

  • Support short‑term trading strategy by maintaining existing models and helping to develop new ones.
  • Partner with colleagues to make considered plant scheduling decisions across hydro, wind, battery and thermal assets.
  • Monitor and report out‑turn performance in a clear, accessible way that supports decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, building trust and shared understanding.
  • Keep developing your market and technical knowledge across forecasting, trading and reporting, with support from the team.

You have:

  • Experience in an analytical role, with a curious, practical approach to problem‑solving.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Python and SQL (or the confidence to build on these quickly).
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative style—comfortable working with others to get to the best outcome.
  • An interest in energy markets, trading, forecasting or performance reporting (beneficial, not essential).
  • A degree in STEM, Economics or Finance, and/or equivalent experience that shows strong analytical capability.
