The role:
- Join our dedicated team at Griffin Wind Farm, one of SSE Renewables largest onshore wind sites in Scotland.
- You’ll play a key part in maintaining a 156MW wind farm with 68 turbines, helping generate clean electricity for homes across the UK.
- These opportunities are open to entry level Technicians looking to start a career in Renewables through to Enhanced Wind Turbine Technicians looking to drive the change to Net Zero.
- Carry out planned maintenance and fault-finding to keep our 68-turbine site running safely and efficiently.
- Help maximise turbine performance, ensuring the wind farm operates at its best throughout the year.
- Work with experienced technicians to deliver high-quality maintenance using safe, structured work practices.
- Assist in improving site performance, helping us generate more renewable energy for homes and businesses.
- Play an active role in scheduled standby cover, supporting the safe and reliable operation of the wind farm (rotational allowance applies).
You have:
- A Level 3 qualification (NC/SVQ or equivalent) in a mechanical or electrical discipline, ideally supported by a recognised apprenticeship.
- Experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance, ideally on wind turbines or heavy plant machinery.
- An understanding of safe working practices, including permit systems and working-at-height procedures.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- A willingness to live within approximately 45 minutes of Griffin Wind Farm, or relocate to meet this requirement.
