Mobile Generation provides essential backup power to keep customers connected during planned maintenance or unexpected outages.

You will:

  • Collaborate within a small team to support planned maintenance and respond to emergency faults on the electricity network.
  • Deliver LV and HV generators to restore power as needed and manage their day-to-day servicing and upkeep.
  • Maintain generator availability across all regions to ensure rapid deployment when required.
  • Service the mobile generation fleet, including planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, repairing or replacing defective equipment, general upkeep of plant, adequate reporting of fleet conditions and status.
  • Support out of hours' availability, including participation in a standby rota.

You have:

  • Completed a time-served apprenticeship in vehicle, plant, HGV, or mobile generator fitting.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential, as the role involves travel across the SEPD licence area. Company transport will be provided.
  • Strong diagnostic skills for identifying mechanical and electrical faults.
  • The capability to carry out timely and safe repairs both on-site and in the workshop.
  • Experience of load testing.
  • Willingness to work away from home for short periods as required.
