Base Location
You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Perth, Glasgow, Reading, Havant, Aberdeen & Inverness.
Salary
£61,620 – £72,592 and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
The successful individual will design, implement and support business‑critical Operational Technology telecoms systems necessary to monitor and control the plant and safety systems used in the SSE Distribution Control Centre.
You will
- Producing standards, specifications and target architectures.
- Making custom tools to aid in the design & delivery of those standards & architectures.
- Take business requirements or objectives and make these into practical telecoms deliverables.
- Provide SME guidance on all aspects of telecoms infrastructure including radio, fibre, SDH & data networks.
You have
- Strong knowledge and experience of the operation and design of data networks.
- Proven experience of planning and deploying data networks.
- Have demonstrable planning and implementation knowledge of data network technologies including IP, ethernet and wireless.
- Have an understanding of telecommunication infrastructure technologies including fibreoptic cabling, SDH/PDH multiplexers, microwave radio and ancillary equipment (space and power).
- Have an understanding of SCADA networks and the application of data networking within these.
