The role
As Site Construction Manager, you’ll lead the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of a portfolio of large onshore wind, solar and battery construction projects, including Derrymeen, Mullafarry and Tinnycross Battery Storage developments. You’ll provide strong leadership to project teams, support the construction strategy, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards as we grow our renewable energy portfolio.
You will:
- Lead and develop construction teams, creating clear structures, setting direction and supporting people to perform at their best across multiple projects.
- Take full accountability for safety, health and wellbeing, ensuring strong standards, compliance and a positive safety culture across all construction sites.
- Oversee delivery of major renewable energy projects, managing programme, cost, quality and risk from mobilisation through to construction completion.
- Support and implement the construction delivery strategy, ensuring projects are planned and executed efficiently, with optimum construction costs and robust governance.
- Act as the senior point of contact during construction, managing key stakeholders, resolving escalated issues and providing clear portfolio-level reporting.
You have:
- Proven experience delivering large, complex construction projects, ideally within onshore wind, solar, battery storage or wider electricity infrastructure.
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to lead diverse teams, contractors and partners in a fast-paced project environment.
- Good commercial and contract management capability, with experience working under standard construction contracts such as NEC or FIDIC.
- A strong commitment to health and safety, supported by recognised site or safety management training (e.g. SMSTS, NEBOSH or IOSH).
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
As this will be a site-based role, a full driving licence is required due to the nature of the role.
